As always, the SFHS organizers welcome submissions in all fields of French history. We particularly urge colleagues to submit proposals for full panels, which typically consist of three presenters, a commentator and a chair.

Conference sessions will be held on the Stanford campus, which lies 25 miles south of San Francisco. Conference accommodation will be available, at a moderate price, at the Palo Alto Sheraton Hotel.
Information on travel and alternate accommodations as well as conference events will be available on the Conference website at:
http://history.stanford.edu/SFHS2005.

Proposals should include:
-Cover Sheet (available on the Website) with session title, participant names and email addresses, paper titles, and audio-visual needs,

-Short Abstracts of papers (no longer than one page each)

-Short CVs (no longer than one page each, with full mailing and
email addresses for each participant)

Please submit your proposals by e-mail AND by regular mail. It is particularly important that e-mail proposals be complete and include all necessary information in the body of the text rather than in separate attachments. They should be postmarked no later than September 15, 2004 and sent to:
